little chick hurt its beak night one at my chicken whelpers house. Not sure if it did it climbing out of box, or if her pet rats did it. ANYWAY we got through that crises and since then she's been overcompensating and that chick is VERY domesticated and has gone to xmas w her family, etc. Wasn't sure if wings, etcc might be a clue to breed. I've looked online a lot and wow there are a lot of chicken breeds that start out as yellow fluffballs. I see white feathers coming in on the wings though and the feet and beak are dark yellow. I did not post immediate pic of broken beak because it looks icky but chick is doing well. It was in a tall box,(the one my other chicken came in from the shelter/ a dog cat cardboard carrier) under a heatlamp - so no clue how the little sucker got out. my friend was so scared to call me that I'd be mad. But heck someone left it in the cemetary, it would have frozen already or been eaten, so it's doing great and she didn't hurt it on purpose. I knew she'd feel worse when her daughter got home from grandmas and saw that the chicks beak was injured while she was gone. --- ANYWAY,, any guesses on breeds I should start reading up on?
