3 day old chick panting, need info please.

What is that? What's in it? Can I make it into a liquid that will go into a syringe to put drops on his beak? He is refusing everything.
Just take whatever type of syrup you have on hand right now since it’s so dire and mix up a little with some peanut butter and get it in a liquid formula. And dry to drop some in his beak. If need be just drop some syrup alone first in his beak at this point. To start then if he perks up do the other.

I’m sorry i didn’t see your post till today. Sounds like low blood sugar could be part of it. Did he ever take any peanut butter or Karo syrup mash? To try to bring his sugar levels up?
He took some water the first 2 days, that had honey & rooster booster in it. He cant seem to eat any solids, he is open mouth breathing. No runny nose, no cough, no sounds. Just an occasional light peep or loud cheep for help. It's almost painful o watch his little head bobbing up and down with every open & close of his mouth to breathe. I've had to be extremely careful to not aspirate him on the liquids.

Okay I will try some honey and creamy peanut butter, thinned out with warm water. If hubby can get him warm enough to be responsive. He is like a limp ragdoll. 😪

At this point it doesn’t matter if he aspirated something. If you are going to save him or lose him it is life or death. You have to chose which you want. If you want to revive him you have to chose.

Ok got it mixed up, we will get his beak open and try. Last ditch effort here. Would love to save him, don't get me wrong. I've cried the past 24hrs
Oh honey ... no one is doubting you or your efforts at all. That is apparent already that you are doing all you can think of plus throwing everything plus the kitchen sink at trying to keep him warm fed and revived. Never meant to give you the impression that I thought any differently than that for sure. So please know that I am behind your efforts 100% and believe you and your peeps are giving it your all to keep this little chick alive. Just remember it may not meant to be and that there is nothing more you can do if that is the case nor is it you guys fault. It will also be better for it to happen now than later after you have invested much more time and money into him or her from a farm or nursery perspective if you need to look at it that way. Also you will be much more attached to a grown Rooster or Hen.
I do wish you all the best in this situation.

Thank you, I appreciate what you said. I'm just so tired and dont know what to do. The peanut butter & honey water worked. That is the 1st thing he has been interested in all day! It took awhile, but he finally decided he liked it and even attacked the syringe with his mouth twice and latched on. Was even able to fill his lil crop up. He has a nice size bubble in there now. First time he's opened his eyes all day too. That was like magic liquid. He did choke a little and I felt horrible. But he somehow shook his head and coughed a few times, some liquid did come back out. Dont know if it was his nose or lung. Hubby then sponge bathed his messy face and chest. He's getting him dry now and told me to go get some sleep. Thank you for the advice, you may have just saved his life. If only this breathing thing he is doing would stop, so he can start a normal life. *hugs & thanks*

I hope that your baby pulls through. Good luck. I wish I could give you some advice but you’ve tried everything I would’ve suggested. Prying for you & your little one.

That’s wonderful! I think that it is very unlikely that he is going to aspirate too much just me knowing what I know about people medical stuff and then veterinarian stuff. He may just have some either tired or under developed crop muscles-could be respiratory development from the egg phase but unlikely since he completed the hatch. We will see keep him on the peanut mash for a while. Just enough to keep him satisfied till he comes around and will take egg yolk hard boiled like before then hopefully by then he will be over the hump and onto becoming a normal healthy chick. He might just need those B vitamins like you mentioned for those muscle and nerve development. Good luck! Glad it helped. Get some zzzzzzz’s
