Mini silkies?? Silkies are bantams, so they are smaller than a larger sized chicken, but I don't think there's such a thing as a, "mini silkie." And some are smaller than others. I have a 3 year old silkie hen who looks the size of a pullet.

As fas as your injured chick, check her foot and make sure there's nothing sticking her. She could have just hurt it a little--just allow her plenty of rest, food, and water. Keep an eye on here and make sure she can get to food and water okay. I like to make a wet mash for injured chicks--which is just wet feed. They can peck at it more easily. But make sure to change it daily, so it doesn't spoil. Keep us posted...

Thats what I was gonna say...There is no Mini silkie just some silkies that tend to be smaller then others but all silkies are a Bantam breed as Mom2four already suggested.

Hello Kysilkies. I am not to far from you. I am off exit 124 on the Wk parkway at Eastview. I have 5 silkie hens and 1 rooster. Just had some babies to hatch today. Also I have one broody sitting on 10 eggs. Perry..

Looks like he may have a lil pasty butt...He gobble up a moth on day 2 and I wondered if that was going to be an issue...

What do we do for that?!?!?

Talk about spoiled, I play with these chicks so much they go NUTS when I leave the room...Last night when I went to bed they went crazy for 20 minutes before my wife grabbed our wedding picture off of the wall and put it in front of them...Instant silence...Go figure! LOL

That is too funny!

On the pasty butt just use a warm damp wash cloth and clean him up before it causes problems.

On the moth, I doubt that you will have issues from that at all. They love those insects. We have a ton of mosquitos around here and mine just love to gobble them up!!!!

Oh, I have now become a mealworm farmer! Cause my babies love them!

Eggs are on day 3 in the bator!

LOL oh come on some one, some where has probably laid claim to breeding mini-silkies. Like teacup poodles and mini teacup yorkies. It's only a matter of time.
