I just give mine the chick food with occasional treats. I always make sure there is food in there! did give them watermelon when temps were in 90's. they loved it! along with clovers, sunflower seeds, and last week they tried pasta! yours has a very big red comb very early. is that one a roo? mine didn't have red comb that early and we believe it's a roo, on most days! haha!THey are a month and 22 days, they are really big because, like i said they are spoiled so i give them boiled egg in the morning and chick starter mixed with corn whenever their bowl is empty.
The reason they are so spoiled is because they are the closest chicks to the house so it is easy to feed them, the yellow ones brothers and sisters are much smaller than him though...
the one in question is now 9 weeks old. Born June 2. my neighbor has been saying roo, today she told me she thinks it's a hen! haha! this little one has stumped us! we go back and forth on yup it's a roo, to, I don't know!I am not sure that it is a roo, i mean my chicks combs are much bigger than yours...
How old are they now, one of my batches of chicks will be that old so we can compare.![]()
I can't remember now! do we all have easter eggers? haha! well one of mine is an ee! that would be the questionable one!Oh wow, he has gotten big and very cute!![]()
My chicks combs and waddles are much bigger than yours and they are younger...
They must be a different breed...
well we really wanted an easter egger and only got one! wanted the colored eggs and a cool looking chicken! would be my luck for it to be a roo! I am not ready to lose hope all together yet!! and neither should you guys! but if you can keep roos then the better for you!aha yes. The comb isn't sticking out too much but sadly there are those big wattles. Never mind. between the 3 of us we haven't done to well have we.
