Hi All!
So a few weeks ago we bought two straight run lavender wyandottes from TSC. Sadly the other chick died a few days ago (possible cocci so we’re treating all the chicks with corid)😭. I was hoping that one of the two we got were female. So just for fun what are your thoughts on this little one that’s left? I know it’s super early to tell with wyandottes but just wanted to see what others were thinking. S/he just turned three weeks old!

My thoughts are ya it's too young for anything other then a wild guess.
Agreed.

Wyandottes usually take more time than most to accurately sex. There's a lavender right now that is 22 weeks old I believe, that we are still debating on. While that is not the norm, it shows that they are typically slower to mature and provide us with proof of sex.

I'd say post updated pics at 8 weeks.

Is there a thread/pic of this 22 week old?

Here is an updated photo at 5 weeks! Any thoughts? I notice that when s/he gets excited it causes the comb to get more pink, but it’s sometimes mostly a pinky fleshtone in the evening when they’re getting ready to settle down for the night.
