-30 degrees in pennsylvania next week

I run heat because they aren't really accustom to cold. Everyone does things differently so if you think they need heat, then heat them...:frow
Absolutely!! Use all the proper safety precautions and do the best with what you have is what I say! I am very lucky to have the option to bring mine in the garage for a short time until this cold passes.

That's crazy! I didn't think PA had too much of a weather difference from side to side. Try to block winds and give them something or somewhere warm to sleep!
i have tarps the whole way around their outside run area and as i said they have a 5x 10 and 4 ft high duck house so they have a shelter i just didnt know if the negative temps that cold would be to much for them to be outside in an enclosed area...they made it through negative 20 already but i figured negative 30 would be way to cold

It’s going to be quite cold in Ohio as well. I’m really worried about my duckies too. I keep hearing so many people from like Minnesota and the Dakotas saying they’ll be fine. Safe from wind, plenty of clean straw, fresh water...I think they’ll be okay.

Mine are coming in the garage!!! I don’t want to have to work in it and they shouldn’t have to sleep in it either! I had to do this last year for about 3 days
Last year I put mine under the house for almost a week! I knew if my pipes didn't freeze then they wouldn't either. There was only one day it even got above 20 (that day they got to go to the creek for a swim) and almost every night it was zero or below. They probably would've been fine with enough straw and windbreaks but I would've been sick with worry. Since right now it's only going to be nasty cold until halfway through Thursday, they're in my dining room, lol. I don't really think they like it but I know they're safe and warm.

I'm in Iowa and we moved the ducks into the garage last night. The wind right now is vicious and frankly i don't think i could stand being out in that long enough to adequately care for them. Space is pretty limited, which they seem a bit grumpy about, but i think we'll all rest easier having them out of that insane cold for a few days.
