You could put in heated waterers.Tomorrow and Friday is supposed to be -30 degrees Fahrenheit with wind chill we put up tarps and insulation. Is there anything more that we can do?!
Where's your ventilation? That coop being inside the hoop coop looks pretty protected from wind. Is it predator proof. And can you close the door some. Maybe just wide enough for you to get in?We have a heated waterer and we put the insulation boards on the outside in hopes of blocking wind. They have lots of whole corn so that should help them I think and their food and water is inside I don't plan on letting them out because I don't want their feet to freeze. We are not going to use a heat lamp because that is dangerous and if the power shuts off they sudden drop in heat I have heard has led to frozen chickens!! We left one side with no tarp for some ventilation, their coop is in a building so we left the side that is sheltered and not by the door open. Her are some pictures before the insulation but just picture 2x4x8 we have 2 of them on the side and 1 by the door and window. These were taken yesterday so we now have more snow.View attachment 1651142 View attachment 1651143
