Our keets have been doing fantastic! They were inside the house in a tub with a heat light for 3 weeks. At that point we moved them to an outdoor coop. Daytime temps are plenty warm enough but nights are in the mid to upper 60's so we turn the light on for them in the coop. They eat game bird chick starter and we have added in chick grit, dried meal worms and fresh grass picked from our yard. Today we've noticed a few of them (we have 10 plus 3 chicks) with their mouths open and their throat seems to be throbbing.

I have noticed that "someone" seems to have runny poo. But otherwise they seem to be acting normal.

The only change that we have done recently was changing their chick grit. The first bag i bought was much smaller than what was in the bag i got and opened yesterday, but it still says chick grit and package says safe for chicks two weeks and older. (It is from Tractor Supply.)

I read online this could mean several things....gape worm, impacted crop or gizzard, etc. But how do we tell what the problem is so we can hopefully fix it?

It could also mean that the grass pieces that you are giving them are too long and are causing the problem.

Thanks! We are now thinking they may have just been hot...??? It was a hot and humid day and they stopped when it cooled off. But just in case it was the grass I am being careful to cut their grass up better before giving it to them now.
