4 legged chick

I hope that your chick lives without any pain. If it isn't able to and you decide to cull, then you could use baking soda and vinegar. There is a thread on here about how to do it.. it is quick & painless. I had to put down a chick out of my first hatch...It went quickly but I cried forever, it seemed. I hope you do not have to use this info.

If it just has extra legs, then it will probably live out a long life and what not. If it is an unabsorbed twin or whatever, there may be complications further on since when it grows, the twin can grow. Also if the heart and and everything is also connected to the twin then that can cause weakness and all that.

I vote to keep the little angel alive while she/he is happy, eating and socialising well

sometimes nature deals us special individuals, and I think to cull a chick that is otherwise healthy and just odd looking would be wrong. I hope your special chick grows up healthy, strong and unique!

remove the belly leg by ting something around it very tightly until it becomes dead then use aknife and cut off the leg it wnt feel a thing

Well then, you must not think anything about a deformed child is cute then either. I, for one, think the chick is adorable, and if you can save him/her and they will have a good life then keep him/her.

here! here! i totally agree! i have a son with Downs and he's the cutest dadburned teddy bear on the face of the earth! lol! no, he's not deformed, but he does look "different" than the "normal" child. sometimes i see people staring at him in public (mostly children of course) and i feel like turning around and saying "cute huh?"....cuz i figure that MUST be why they're staring! and he just wants to run up and hug total strangers (which is a problem and it's hard to teach him not to....we have a hand on him at all times in public)......i havent read this total thread yet, but i gotta chime in and say if she's healthy and able to function and eat etc....let her have a life. when it's her time to go, she will. and she may live out a regular life, who knows. personally, when i first saw the picture (the 2nd pic with her all bright eyed and fuzzy)....my immediate reaction was "yea! she's chipper and looking healthy! what a cutie!". i love her!

Wow, that is really interesting!

KFC would be thrilled if they could cross that with the cornish cross.

It really is a cute little thing, I'd love to know how it's doing, or if it went downhill.
