4 Weeks Old!

Never a good reason to keep a bad rooster. He needs to be a guest for dinner before he really harms someone.
That’s true, but he is very good at protecting his hens from any type of danger. We’ve raised him since he was a week old I can’t just eat him for dinner :p ... But if I did it would be because of his constant crowing lol.

I have to agree with @drumstick diva on this one. There's no way I could keep a rooster I didn't trust to turn my back on. My rooster is very protective of his hens, but he also does not consider myself, my kids, my husband or the dog to be a threat. My daughter struggle snuggles each of the hens whenever the weather is good. In truth, she holds them and preens the back of their necks. He watches her carefully, but he doesn't attack.

That’s also a good point, he’s stopped now since he’s couped up because of the crappy -45° Michigan weather.

Update- I’ve researched some things and is it true that same wing feather length usually means cockerel? This chick (above) definitely has the same feather length in his wings, I’m just wondering.

Feather sexing only applies in hybrids that have been bred for that indicator. Any pure bred will not have that ability. Also, in those hybrids, feather sexing only applies in the first few days of life, and wouldn't be applicable this late.
