MY EGG ART for contest! Blown out egg, then cut opening and decorated with paint, glitter, and a dangling rhinestone cross.

I just got done candeling my eggs. They didn't do as well as I would have liked. Out of 99 eggs only 62 where developing. I checked my duck eggs (they are not for the hatch, just to test the bator, they were set with the chicken eggs) and 20 out of 21 of them are developing. My chicken eggs where refrigerated, but my last few hatches were also and they did better. I think it was either some of the eggs where a bit older or it may be because they ended up warming up and cooling back down a few times.

I candled mine as well. Looks like my EE eggs aren't fertile. I suppose I should have expected it, since the only roos that try to get to her are the Ameraucanas, and the turkeys protect her. I guess I'd rather have some cool blue eating eggs than a hen that was eaten by a hawk because she wasn't protected by the turkeys! I also found that I missed a double-yolker and put it into the incubator, and that's not developing either. My duck eggs hadn't done quite so hot... only four out of nine eggs are still in the incubator. :/

Where's the list of folks who've registered how many eggs?

I can't candle tonight... I can't candle tonight... I can't candle tonight. (Most of my eggs are very dark Marans.) How do you guys that hatch all the time check them? I'm planning on just using the sniff test for now.
