Guess I need to find out about worst hatch rate contest too. Out of 28 eggs only 3 ended up in lockdown and still not a single bit of activity!
I think I'm going to go cry

I have a BCM hatchling that is still attached and dragging half of his shell by his backside. Is there anything I should do or will this fix itself in time? I'm just worried he'll herniate something.

It will dry and drop off by itself. The drag of him pulling it around shouldn't cause any damage but if you pull it it may. I have had one hatch like that and it was torture to leave it! All was well in the end and it didn't take long.

Thanks Rachel. It has broken now and he's left the shell behind, but still has a glob of shell pieces and umbilicus stuck, but he's active and I'm sure it'll fall off as it dries.

Seee!!!!! It's things like this that make me paraniod!!!!

Still early enough to not worry! Can you hear chirping? Tap the bator and talk to them. I usually get a peep out of one of them that are pipped, when I'm worried about how long it's been that they have been pipped. Hearing the chirping helps me through the wait.
