5 week still pooping bright red blood after 2 days of Corid

I don't think the DE is detrimental to the birds if ingested, if that's your concern?
No, I just don't like it floating in the air every time I scoop or poor feed and haven't had any issue with grain mites YET. Knee jerk reaction maybe... but I breath it daily. It's still dust floating in the air though even when no DE is present. None of the sources I found said it was "approved for use" as an insecticide.. and all stated up to 2% was the maximum approved rate.

Interesting to discover that the differences between food grade and non is the NATURAL state of the deposit!

My husbands version of a tablespoon is a lot more like 4 tablespoons. :p But it worked for you when adding it to your feed to rid active grain mites? :pop

I stopped their corid October 17 exactly one week ago and lo and behold he pooped blood today. I was told by the lady who gave him to me that a retired poultry professor said not to move them to a different area bc they will build up immunity to this strain and different areas in my own yard can introduce a new strain. So I left them in the same large yard. Clearly he was wrong. I'm thinking I should have moved their yard. It's about 100 feet by 25 feet. Should I scrap what she said and go ahead and get them on new uncontaminated ground? I don't want to be one week on and one week off corid from here on out.

I can try but I already started him back on corid since this didn't look like intestinal sloughing. It wasn't serious yet and I wanted to head it off. Do you recommend moving their area?

Coccidia lives in the soil, so they will encounter it no matter where you move them to.
Updated photos of the poop would be helpful.

This is the only bloody stool from overnight. Looks just like the one I found during the day yesterday. All three pics are of the same one stool. All others were normal.

Question...I caught it early this time and I would like to just treat him with undiluted corid so I don't have to treat my two hens. Do you know how much I would need? I can't really separate him. They are like three peas in a pod.

Also one more question. Is he ever going to become immune?!

This may be why you are having problems.
While you can give Corid undiluted, he still needs to have the mixed Corid water as his sole source of drinking water for the 5-7days.

Undiluted is in addition to the Corid drinking water.

Since you have no way to separate him, then just make the water available to them all.
Dosage is 1 1/2 teaspoons Corid powder or 2 teaspoons of 9.6% Corid liquid per gallon of water. Give for 5-7 days - make sure this is the ONLY water available during that time period. Mix a fresh batch at least once a day.

No, I've never done the undiluted dosage before. I just wanted to know if I could. I treated last time with the severe outbreak dose you mentioned for six days.

So are they supposed to get immunity or is it normal to sometimes have a second round?
