This is Penelope Featherington and my kids are super worried about her giant tail! This is our first time with chicks and our other two are a blue sexlink and a black australorp so we don't have other orpingtons to compare to side by side. What do you guys think? Too early to tell? Hen? Roo?

I will absolutely watch that comb and report back when we are 8-9 weeks, but I sooooo hope you're right- we aren't allowed to keep roos here and we love this sweet chicken! <3
Usually males of this variety show big combs early, so I'm optimistic of your chances of getting a girl. But the comb is rather large, just not to the extent I'd expect from a boy, and there is no redness. So yeah, best to check back just in case.
