Mine don't know what happened! They are all puffed up and looking around like what the heck?!!! I can tell they are miserable. Poor babies

I am going to fix them all a good breakfast and maybe it will help them feel a bit better

Today is actually warmer than the last couple of days. It was -13 when I got up. Yesterday it was -35. But then I'm in Minnesota and we're used to getting some cold. I have no chickens, but I've been thinking what I would do on days like this. Probably just warm food, heat lamps, and lots of love.

I am making my daughter a scarf today. I couldn't find one yesterday when it was time to go to town! I didn't want any of her exposed to the cold! Ugh. Spring can come at any time. Especially with all these seed catalogs coming...

It was -2 this morning when I looked. Yesterday when I went to get the eggs two were frozen so I cooked them up with the shell and then thought, well I have mac and cheese from last nights dinner I'll throw that in, then I added bread and oatmeal and Sour cream with some water. It was all warmed up and I think they ate it in 5 minutes. Their water was frozen. Now I need to go out every couple of hours so my other eggs don't freeze.

It would be nice if they all layed at the same time. But no, one lays in the morning and the rest in the afternoon.

Well, Im not leaving the mtns so guess I take the cold with the great spring and summers we have here. Cant take those any further south! I hate heat.
Thanks you guys, Im doing fine, but its tiring to type alot. Have to log out a few times a day to rest up.

I learned an important lesson today (I had a real blonde moment) I went out to the chicken coop to open it up and found the water frozen (It was in the coop). So I took it in the house and refilled it with nice warm water. Things were fine until I grabbed the metal handle with my wet hand. I felt like the kid from christmas story that licked the flag pole. It took a few minutes for my hand to warm up the handle. I moved from Philly to get away from the cold...I want spring!!!

Yes I agree speckledhen North Ga is a great place to live. No extreme heat or cold, close to the mountains and not far from the beach.
