I just read on yahoo news that the boy said that they did it for the show? Then he vomited.
I hate to think this, but maybe the father is making the child lie.
Ya I feel that way too..
The father said hes just confused from the last show..
Uh huh... suuure
If the child vomited after saying that 'It was for the show", then he must feel a lot of stress. What a horrible thing for a parent to do to a child.
I hope that the child's imagination is strong and that his parents aren't trying to pass off a hoax as truth. But if they are, then they are abusive also.

When I was a young child and had a lot of guilt I ALWAYS felt sick to my stomach..
Like once I watched an adult movie by accident at my friends house. I felt SO guilty for a few weeks and every night at bed time while I had to lie in my dark room with my thoughts my stomach would start hurting. I was scared to getting in trouble. My sister use to use the 'Im going to tell Mommy you watched that movie!' till my mom over heard her threatening me and asked what movie. I was SO scared to tell her but thank goodness I did because I could sleep soundly after that. And no... I did not get in trouble!
I know 6 year olds lie/fib about a lot of things, but I'd think if he was going to tell a tale about what had happened it probably wouldn't include doing it for a show....blame it on his brothers more than likely, but it just seems to me he had to hear this show stuff from his parents.
Did they ever show video of his mom yesterday while he was supposedly missing? I would think the panic she would have been feeling would have been hard to fake.
It will be interesting to see what shakes out of all this. Whatever it is they're getting their time in the spotlight again.

I never saw video of either of the parents, or any family members, during the whole thing. I didn't hear that the dad was following the balloon or anything....??
I never thought he was in the balloon to start with, and that the child was hiding. I can remember doing this as a small child completely unaware of the consequences to others. I hid in closets, under the bed, in the dog house, in the tree, in the shed. While my parents went crazy.
That said I can understand in the confusion how the parents and other children may have thought he was in the balloon. And though the parents are kooks I cannot say that it was a hoax. His being around shows so much everything probably is a show to him. I do not take anything from his statement or his getting sick. I think we should let the investigators do their job and accept their findings.
I was puzzled why the police did not initially bring in dogs, as the child could have just wondered off and may have been in danger on the ground. This would have saved the tax payers a lot of money. If I was the command officer on scene after notifying proper assisting agencies would have been at the very top of my priorities.
I do believe though balloon incident aside that these children are in an unsafe environment because of taking them with on storm chasing.
