No I wouldn't like to see it, but the reality is.... it happens EVERY day.

The suggestion was made that the judge gave the convicted person an extra twenty years sentence because the other was acquitted. A judge can give whatever sentence is within the guidelines that apply to the case but I was surprised to read that he was punishing someone because another was acquitted by the jury. To be blunt about it, I think that statement is poppycock.

Whatever, that's what my boss told me over the phone yesterday. Until the judicial system is completely overhauled, it's not fair, but in THIS case......GOOD!

I know that anger about a crime makes us sometimes want revenge and that's understandable. However, if the legal system is unfair, that just make it as reprehensible as the crime. If someone wants to live with a system like that it's up to them but don't call it justice. Revenge and justice are not the same.

And, by the way, I don't see any 'Yippee' in this awful crime and what followed.

This post brings tears to my eyes. It will be 9 years on Jan 2 that both of my parents were brutally stabbed to death in a robbery gone bad. The BB that murdered them was 27 yrs old. My parents were 70 & 73. They were stabbed so many times they had to have closed caskets.
It took a year to get the BB convicted. He confessed to the crime when he was caught but a year later when when there was going to be a trial he took the deal for two consecutive life sentences plus 5 years each because he accepts his reponsibility for being at the scene but that he didn't do the crime !!! The judge said that's what it is "just a story."

The BB should have another added life sentence for the pain he inflicted on our family. Especially my 88 yr old aunt. She is my Dads sister and was the one who found them in their home.(she was 80 at the time) She will never get that picture out of her mind. She says she is glad that she is the one that found them since she only has to live with it until she dies which won't be as long as if one of us kids would have found them. My nephew (their grandson) was suppose to have been babysat by Grandma & Grandpa the morning after the murder but fortuneately my sister in law didn't have to go to work that day or they would have walked in to find them. He was only 7 yrs old at the time. It broke my heart when I heard he asked his mom if the robber stole his lincoln logs that he played with my dad for hours. When they said no he asked if there was blood on them. We are all affected to this day. My niece just had a baby girl Dec 3rd. She would have been their first great grand daughter. So even with a happy time in our lives it also brings sadness along with it.

As far as being rich and taking care of things......... Sure money can get you what you want but as far as I'm concerned.................Let him out !!!! I don't have money but I let's just put it this way....... I'd be on a mission. The tax payers could of saved alot of money by just letting the BB come to the funeral home with the 300 plus people paying their respects. Lock him in the room with them all !!! If he could walk out alive them let him go free !!

And as for the brother going free, well, it will just be a matter of time before he will be joining his brother. Was he a minor? If the BB that murdered my parents would have served his full sentences for his previous crimes he would have still been locked up and my parents would be alive. He was actually caught in someone elses house 3 days after murdering my parents. Said he was in their basement because he had to use the bathroom. He was arrested because of parol violation. Then let out 53 days later. He wasn't charged with the murder until March 13th when his fingerprint was finally matched up thru the AFIS system. He left a finger print on a beer can he left on their back porch and of course his DNA from the can.
Point being, after murdering two old people in cold blood and having enough guts to attempt another robbery 3 days later...... there is no hope for some people. That brother will find his way to the cell next to his brother. Hopefully nobody else gets hurt or killed in the process.
Good for that judge !!!! After all those years he finally knew he needed to throw the book at the brother. More judges should do the same. In my opinion the judges and lawyers that defended the BB that killed my parents are just as guilty as he is for giving him light sentences for all of his previous crimes.


Sorry, for ramblking, this just hit home and I just had to reply. I am so glad to hear that Mrs C is doing good. I'll bet those animals are what kept her going to the rip old age that she is.

Thank goodness for animals. My chickens and all my critters are what got me through some very tough times.

No..no. I think hes saying that if you have enough money here.. you can then afford the best lawyers...
And yes... they usually are shady characters that stoop to some low levels to get you off..

While if you are poor.. you usually have to take the state appointed lawyers or really cheap lawyers that usually loose the cases..
... thats why we sometiomes say over here that "money talks"...
Its a fact here that the more money you have the more you CAN get away with legally..usually.
Heck look at O.J. Simpson... he CLEARLY killed his wife and her friend,.. but he had millions to spend on defense and he walked away scott free.
