I started when I got home from the PO empty handed. Both wine and whine. :yiipchick

Awwwww :( I'm so sorry..I feel selfish now. I have been looking forward to this for three weeks. I can imagine how unhappy you are:(

Wine time is exactly two minutes after the eggs have been at temp for 3 hours. lol!

So illnbe up til 3 a.m to pop the cork...:/ maybe I should just wait for breakfast....?

Hey, just got in my house, mom turned the bator on for me, but I never thought to ask her to take the eggs out of the fridge... Do They have to come up to room temp before I put them in the bator?

Roan I wish I had planned that pun! Lol glad there was a bright candling idea for me!

Yes!

If they are too cold, the moisture that gets on them can cause bacteria to go into the egg.

How many people heat with wood? I do and I get morning temps around 98 in the bator and 102 in the afternoon, evening. I try to keep that room stable but between the kids and dog I get about a 4 degree diff. This is my first winter hatch.

I heat with wood, but my incubators temp stays stable even when the house doesn't... Wish I was more helpful... What kind of bator?

You are seeing the difference between a foam incubator and the plastic brinsea. Plastic or wood is better for houses that do not keep a constant temperature.

Well my eggs are not set yet :-(
I had it all planed out. Go home sick from work at 11am. 11:30 candle and mark eggs for turning. 12:00 set eggs. 12:15 open first beer. 12:16 thru the 12 pack stare. But here's what really happened. Left work at 10:45 made it about a mile car broke down. Called a buddy to take me to the parts store. 12:30 arrived at parts store. 1:00 the employee says that's a dealer part we can't get it. A hour ride later arrive at dealer. Sure we have it in stock he claims. 2:45 he comes back and says we can't find it but we can order it. 3:00 he claims he can't find one in the USA. 3:15 finds one in Canada. All seemed to be looking up. On the way back my buddy decides it's a good idea to rear-end a truck. 4:45 back on the road. 5:30 stopped at the liquor store baught some whisky (needed something to wash my day down with) got home at 6. Marked eggs and checked temps in the bator. 107 wait check again I'm seeing things 107. I can't post my thoughts or words for the next few minutes cuz they were not appropriate. 6:30 wife tells me her friend stopped by today and her kids were around the bator but they did not tuch it. It's 7:30 now and waiting for it to regulate 102.

I would like to nominate him for the "Most difficulties overcome to get eggs set on Dec 11th" award! You know, after such a contest is created, of course! ;)
