is that your egg you just candled?

No! Not mine, they may be starting to spider out now, but probably not quite yet. I just got this photo from the net.

I would love to see the full video...if you find it, please post...or any key words on what I should google to find it?
I'll have to look for it. I'm sure it's on my windows system and I'm currently on LInux.

Whew, just caught up with everyone's post, now off to bed...good night everyone!
And when you wake up, you get to start all over again!

Question I should the answer to round #3 LOL

Ok so I have an egg in the bator that I think might be a duck egg. (Long story) and while the chicken eggs I put in are hatching now, that possible duck egg is very very dark and I haven't seem movement in it when I candled last, not that I took a lot of time before lock down but you know what I mean.

Dead? Should I keep it in there another week to see what happens? It was moving not long ago.... It doesn't smell.

i just have to share.....im too excited for these babies...milkshake and timothy will be the parents

SO EXCITED!

BTW Japanese bantam X splash silkie roo crossed with a partridge frizzle silkie

think ill get a frizzle out of this? or any silkied feathers? or no? 75% silkie 25% jap

You should get 25-50% frizzle when one parent has frizzled feathers. I'm not sure how silkie genes work, but I have bred frizzles for a couple years. This should be a pretty interesting cross.

Duck eggs take longer to develop than chicken eggs and if it doesn't smell, I'd say leave it at least until everyone else has finished hatching. Possibly a few days longer if you're sure it's a duck egg.

Can you get a picture of it so the ducksperts in here can help you determine what it is?

I would keep it in. Hatched some for a friend who's mama duck was killed by a predator. They had no idea how far along the eggs were. :/ So, I kept watching/candling, and finally saw what looked to be a shadow in the air cell. Let them be, when you see that, you will know that they are close..and after candling, spray them..them only, not the chicken eggs. As you probably know.

Ducks take a week longer to hatch.

Check the first post for details.
