I know these babies would be adorable, I just have to get them to hatch! The duck already interrupted my duck egg breakfasts. Luckily I am getting enough eggs that breakfast isn't in jeopardy, yet.

what kinda chicken eggs you trying to hatch? :)

hmm there should be a most unique thing thats hatched for the HAL :)

I am trying to hatch barnyard mix. our rooster is a buff orpington over buff orpington girls, a white amerucana (sp?) a speckled sussex and a regular amerucana. I am excited to see what a speckled sussex/buff orpington looks like.

With a water bottle of water. Just a mist on them.
The eggs need to be dry before closing the incubator--bacteria can build up.

Yes.
Adding, you want to mist the duck eggs when you open the bator, they need more moisture..that will help keep the humidity up..only thing is..didn't you say you had chick eggs in there too? If so, really make it a light light mist.
Misting the eggs makes the air cells grow faster--evaporation does that.

Yes. As the chick grows it will become the lighter space in the egg.
Most unique type of bird or most unique mix?
what kind of egg like snake, or chicken or ostrich or whatever....could be based on mix or even maybe a super rare type of chicken or something :) just whatever peeps might think is the most Unique thing to hatch for the hatch along :)

So when i saw others were peaking and candling i had to do it too! Most of my eggs have a lot bigger dark spot at the top than i think they are supposed to. Is this a blood ring or is my humidity too high? I filled one channel in my eco 20 with water when i read marans eggs needed higher humidity but maybe im overdoing it?
