Quote: Do you have a link to the place that sells plastic hatching trays. I have the cabinet standard size setting trays, would those work? I like the plan of wash and reuse. There seems to be so much use and toss for my cabinet bator. The sponges, the tray liner, and the cardboard cartons when I use those.

Quote: I sure hope the new vaccine is better. I'm not against vaccines but I have not gotten a flu shot in a few years. I do get the other major vaccines those, sometimes a bit delayed but I get them.

Quote: 50 pounds of crushed egg shells should cover all $10 fines. That is about what I have to pay for oyster shell. But who really has 50 pounds of egg shells sitting around.

btw can you recommend a decent temp guage humidity combo guage thats reliable and cost effective ron? I know this was discussed way back yonder in the thread my thermostat things are a joke I have literially 5 thermostats in my bator now and they all have differening temps...which ok I calibrated the mercy ones in ice water n ice to find the calculations of what the actualy temps it are they are reading... which is how I found my home depot guage except the humdity sucks on three different home depot machines...which is like great for what I bought them's purpose tendsing my garden in the greenhouse and indoors and everything even the chicken coop.... odviously for hatching eggs need a better gauge thats more fine tuned...soo oh great and knowledgable egg hatching guru ron what is your sage advise? (or anyone elses suggestions idea's)

incubator warehouse as one that works well for humidity. Brinsea spot check is a very accurate thermometer. I use both of these; I have two spot checks.

I cut the plastic tray that fits into a cabinet so that it fits in the Genesis.

My baby is out! Quite an early little one. I noticed that my name never got added to the participant list though - I'm hoping I can still enter cutest chick with him since he is such a cute little thing.

I sent a pm to you too.

Okay. Got home and humidity was still around 53%. Here's what I've done:

-Taped up the seams where lid meets base (no, I have NOT taped up air holes ;) )

-Taped up seams around windows

-wet paper towel

-all six chambers filled

-wet cotton balls at openings of air holes.

So far I've gotten it up to 57%. I have closed my bedroom door and turned on humidifier (bator in closet and I can't out humidifier in there).. I have turned off the heater in the bathroom (shared wall with closet).. And I also filled the bottom of the tub with water to see if maybe helping bathroom humidity will help..

Any other ideas? I would add more paper towels but I'm not opening bator. I can't lose what humidity I DO have!
