morning lil eggys tilted bator at a rock steady 99.5 with 30 humidity one thermomature is just a smidge over 99.5 it's the farthest egg.. should I rotate the eggs in the egg carton to give the eggs chance to shift in different area's? I am using the circular wedge I drilled out of the bator to insert the light fixture.. is that enough "tilt" to shove under one end or the other of the egg carton?
Yes, rotate them every couple of days.

Be very gentle with them for the first 7 to 10 days.

You are all so great!

The set number submissions are coming in nicely and I am caught up for the moment.

Remember to add your guess for the total set:

Send me a pm if you are hatching shipped egg letting me know where the eggs were shipped from and where you live. Do not send addresses and personal information.

Chicks will be hatching in 21ish days!

soft as an angels touch!! ok will rotate them in the egg carton every other day? :)
Yes, as in move them around the incubator--re arrange them. That helps even out cold and hot spots. It also helps with air exchange.

Turning them from one side to the other is three or more times a day.

I am posting to avoid confusion for those reading to learn--I am sure you know all this stuff.

hmm, something else to add to the incubator worksheet then?

and any opinions about using a shirt to drape over the incubator to help keep the heat stable? it's a cotten blend that's not as thin as a t-shirt but not as thick as a hoodie if that helps. lol I could go with a t-shirt though.

I don't currently have any cardboard I can use to box it in at this short notice.

Since we have to wait 3 weeks for pics of the HAL chicks I thought I would share. Last night at midnight I had one egg pipped of the five in the styrofoam hatcher. This morning I came out to a second pip and this.

As long as the vents are not covered, it would be fine.

Yes, add to the worksheet for hatching!
