It's hard, isn't it?  You want to get in there and fuss with the incubator, rearrange eggs, check and double check the temps and humidity all the time, wonder if you can candle light-shelled eggs early....   What a bunch o' hand-wringers we are!

I have with my cell phone flashlight app. Day 4 on light cream colored bantam Cochin eggs. I'm trying so hard to behave this time around though!

I just did a quick candling and it appears my two eggs did survive the power outage!! Now, to see if they'll actually hatch on the first. They might end up a bit late. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

YAY! Are you using an incubator? I'm using a broody. I was thinking I should wait until like Wednesday or Thursday. I didn't let her have the eggs until Thursday night and then she took a few more on Friday morning from hens that got in the nest with her to lay. When should I candle for the first time with a broody?
