hey ron question oh wise hatching guru

...............so I was of course reading more for last few hours and my question is this... once they internally pip and begin to transition into breathing real air are they out of the transition stage when they externally pip? and if they have externally pipped is it safe to assume they have transitioned fine to breathing normal?

They work on pipping when they need more air. If they still need to absorb yolk, they will sit there for up to 24hours(chicks not ducklings--those booger will sit for a couple of days sometimes) and then zip and hatch.

This is one reason why you want air cells to be developed properly.

I woke up to babies. There are 5 new pips as well.
Wow, congrats!

I have a couple of EE's that look like one or the other is next to hatch..very loud, but..I also have a very loud sizzle egg...I like being able to hear them..they are getting anxious to get out of there.

No doubt!!! I think she's more excited than I am about my own hatches! lol But then again, when hatch time comes, I always switch from zen to panic and don't have time for the excited happiness. lol That comes after I've take a final tally, then after I've mourned my losses, I can transition to joy and love my new babies. Hey, it's my process, what can I say? lol

so when they need air they do the internal pip and when they need more air they externally pip? is there a stage other then hatching you know they have made a safe transition to breathing air?
