6th Annual BYC New Year's Day 2015 Hatch-A-Long

My bator looks like a crime scene! Woke up to 9 hatched (now 10). One has a wry neck and one has a bloody mass, that I assume is the yolk sac that the others have been picking at? There's blood all over the unhatched eggs. Blood all over the bator. Both chicks are in the hatcher in containers. 4 in the brooder, 3 in the bator and the newest in the hatcher so it doesn't get trampled. I see one large pip, but haven't looked closely because I've been a bit busy.

Went to bed early this morning (about 2am) after checking on the eggs around midnight with an EE egg pip, brown egg pip and no pip on a Silkie egg but I could hear it peeping. This morning went out to take a peak and see if there are any babies and found the two eggs with pips still peeping and starting to zip and the Silkie egg chick is out!!! LOL! Didn't expect that at all! I will check again in a few hours when it warms up outside.

Patiently waiting on "her" babies... The one crying in the closet has her very concerned this morning. She gets so excited each time the brooder is set up in the living room.. Sticks her nose in (gently) each time she shuffles past on her way outside. She LOVES chicks! ;)
