7 month silkies. Boy or Girl? I still cannot tell!

That is some BIG comb on the cuckoo, I would have to think Cockerel. Your white one is a hen and gorgeous. Did you get her from a breeder? Silkies that are from hatchery stock often have incorrect comb/color and sometimes missing the 5 toes etc.
I got the 7month old white and cuckoo from same breeder, these were her growout rejects because of incorrect comb (on white Silkie) and wrong coloring on cuckoo. Her birds are all gorgeous though. And the white 2yo pullet I got from a Utah breeder that has AMAZING silkies. She was working on a calico project and this white girl didn’t have enough (any) spots of color on her so she sold as pet quality as well. She has moved with us three times and is our absolute favorite!!

I’m going with cuckoo cockerel and female white. This is aside the point, but would it be possible to make sex linked silkies with cuckoo hen and buff male?
I have no idea. I’m horrible at Silkie genetics, but I know there are some experts on here that would answer your question. You might just have to start a new post in the genetics page though..

UPDATE:
White and Cuckoo started to crow!!! BUT Cuckoo laid an egg yesterday is that normal?!?! To crow (weakly) and lay egg? I’m so confused!!! And yes I do know for a fact it was her that laid an egg. Watched her the entire time. No egg in nest, tiny mini FIRST egg in nest.

What defining marks should you look for in silkies? Earliest age to tell male from female? when do they start crowing?

Well my boy who is 4 1/2 months started looking like a boy at 2 months with his big comb and was crowing soon after. I think they are all different but he is MUCH bigger than my two pullets now. In my profile picture he’s the smaller gray. The splash silkie next to him is a white girl in my profile picture.
