So I've been slowly introducing my 8 week old easter eggers to my flock. Well today, one of my lavender hens got super mean and scalped one of my easter eggers! Its an area the size of a nickel and there's no more feathers or skin... I can see her scalp. She's chirping and eating and drinking away and her sister is there keeping her company. I moved them out and back into my large (Clean) brooder. Its kinda oozing but she does seems to be doing alright, no swaying or listless behavior.

Should I put Neosporin or antibiotic ointment on it?

Yes, apply an antibiotic ointment and continue doing so as it heals. It will take time, but such wounds eventually heal as healthy tissue grows from 'the outside inwards'.

Okay thanks! Should I clean it with some saline before I put the antibiotic ointment on?
