Check out those tiny tots outside already! I can't imagine..it's Jan.! We have 14 inches of snow on the ground here. And, no mamas there, they just copy cat the olders?
We were 92 degeees F today those little things were laying just chillin sunbathing, and yes copying the older ones eating and drinking water and running around. Right now I have all of them laying down in a ring circle beneath their heat lamp.

Oye. Long day! I'm now up to 14. I moved about half of the chicks around 130p and then took my nap. Got up around 330p and decided it was time to go ahead and move the rest since the newly hatched had fluffed up. After removing all the hatched birds, I move the remaining eggs towards the center and rotated the one that had the wrong pip. Confirmed it looked nonviable. Found another was pipped but it took me an hour or so before I noticed that it too, was pipped at the wrong end. It tried so hard to get out and I really thought it would make it. Number 14 hatched and eventually made it over to the chick, bumped it causing it to roll, so I got my tube in there to try to right it again. By the time I got it righted, movement in the egg had stopped, so I lost another :/ I have one egg that's pipped left, plus two others that don't look like they've done anything at all. I'm trying to wait on #14 to fluff so I can go ahead and move her. She's so lonely LOL Is there a good method of helping them fluff yourself, out of the incubator? And pictures. Because.
That little yellow and grey splash one

Sorry about the ones you lost. The others are ADORBALE though. The chick on the lower right of the very last picture is so cool looking.

I am so anxious about mine

I just have a strong feeling I did something wrong. I've always had chicks pip around day 19 before, but it's been freaking years that I could have messed up somewhere lol Gonna candle again tonight before bed and see if at least I see an internal pip.

Have courage!! I didn't have a pip till day 21, and they hatched fine.
x2

Ok, I am now on my day 21, and I have one of the six eggs so far that has a small hole in it and I can see the egg tooth. There is also some peeping coming from it.
Go chickies go! I've had chicks hatch on day 23.

Only day 19? Stop freaking out. Stop it. Just stop. Don't candle tonight...don't. If you must, and it's the mid of day 20..then candle a couple. You see movement? Stop, ya hear, just stop!

x2!!!!!

My previous 2 hatches, I left for work on day 21 without a SINGLE pip, and came home to hatched chicks. They finished their hatch on day 23. This NY hatch, I upped my temps by .5 degree, and I didn't have any pips until late on day 20, 3 hatched that afternoon/evening, and I found 7 more when I woke up this morning (day 21). 1 more hatched (with some help) about 3 hours ago. I think my next hatch I"m going to go another .5 higher.

I need to take better notes on my hatches....i remembered that I pulled a few eggs on day 3 and 5 -because I had stinkers and an exploding egg. So I filled the empty spots with EE eggs. The remaining EE eggs that I included in this lock down are probably those eggs which are just hitting day 16 and 18. So, I guess I still have a few more days to wait.

Woohoo!! Happy Hatching everyone! Keep the photos coming!
