You guys are so funny! :lau:lau:lau

That's a great surprise @Auroradream26 !
I've been using the Hatchabatch app which seems to be basic, but serves my needs adequately.. You can log multiple batches at a time, fill in special notes, set reminders for candling, etc. I'd love to hear if anyone else uses a hatching app?
I've heard that it is one day ahead then it should be.

Ok fertility experiment has gone completely different than I thought.
Free hens eggs 0 either she wasn’t with rooster long enough or my 2 year old rooster is blank. Probably first choice as he’s been great so far. Her eggs are scrambled up waiting to cool to feed back.
Dark Cornish rooster, young and had a bum leg for a period of time so I didn’t think their eggs stood a chance. 7 of 7.

Still not convinced of the Dark Cornish as a meat bird they seem small especially against my mutts but maybe they put on more size later.
The dark cornish has likely been messed up by breeders--sometimes to make them pretty for shows, others by trying to get them to lay more eggs.

I bet there are some people on the meat chicken forums that have good ones.

That drives me nuts about hatch-a-batch

Me too, that's why I usualy try to set all my eggs to hatch on Fridays (unless I'm doing a hatch a long). That way, it just helps me keep track of how many batches I have in and about when they're due. It really helps when there's turkey eggs in and chicken eggs in and the occasional duck eggs lol

I guess since I'm finally collecting and setting from my pens, it's time to start using it again. I WAS just setting CX and serama eggs for a while and there were only a few at a time so I didn't bother but since it's time to start setting large numbers.....

My relentless broody hen has decided that she's going to start the new year off with babies too.I think she heard us talking about our broodies not long ago as she's now paled on a nest. I think I'll wait and see what hatches and if there are any that don't look pure, I'll let her raise them.

I have a hen that went broody the day after I set my eggs!

She’s the first broody I let have eggs (I gave her some older ones that I didn’t set) so it’ll be educational for me. I love watching her turn and rearrange her eggs
