GORGEOUS birds! I want to start this breed so badly!!!! My NN Turkens just started hatching today, and I'm hoping to hatch some Bielefelder eggs next.

when did your bielefelders lay? mine are 7.5 months, just getting their combs, and not laying yet. being mid-winter one can hardly fault them, but my orpingtons and easter egger are going strong...

It was last summer so they were about 7 months old. They refused to lay in winter until I put lights up. Now that they get an extra five hours of light and are laying well. My first 2015 chicks.

    Speedy,
How many pullets did you loose total? I remember you had purchased a few about a month or 2 ago.

I will have 3 Biel roosters come Spring that I will need to get rid of. They will be 5 months old come March. Anyone near Reading PA that would want them for a trade?

I purchased 2 females for $25 and the few males were free as the owner have too many. I loose 1 pullet at 2 weeks old and the last 1 at 4 months old. Will see how the autosex x autosex (Bielefelder x CL) turn out.
