A Bielefelder Thread !

Here our two girls that we have left (we can't have roosters so we had to give a hen away with each of the two males we received in order to find the boys good homes) and I think they are just so pretty. Both are very sweet and calm even with the kids, dog and other chickens. They are almost 3 months old and seem large compared to our adult Russian Orloffs... not as big yet, but definitely creeping up on them in size. So far I really like their their personalities and wouldn't mind having a bunch of them! Here they are venturing out into the new snow - they don't seem to mind the cold.

what color of legs should bielefelders have? thank you

They should have yellow legs. That is only my personal opinion from my chickens. They came from greenfirefarms. I haven't read or remember anything that says otherwise. Take into consideration that my mind and memory isn't worth a crap.

If anyone has checked greenfirefarms in the last few days, the prices have dropped quite a bit.

that's what I thought.... I have a chick I thought possibly might be one but am thinking the seller of eggs was just plain clueless and despite her telling me they were in seperate pens I have a bunch of mixed breeds. the one I thought might be a bielefelder has green legs. oh well she'll go in the layer coop.

DH has told me I can get some chicks, have a local breeder who is more trustworthy and he has some weekly.
