Wow. They look so diff. Are both really from the same pullet? My Bieles just started laying but I can't tell the eggs apart yet. (I only know if I actually catch one laying.) I was hoping to get a layer with freckled eggs, but so far all are just brown.

I'm currently using "all flock" with calcium on the side. I'll probably make the switch when the current supply runs out.
Patience isn't one of my virtues either! I think the same thing will happen to me, she is going to pop out a few, then stop. The other girls aren't even looking like they will lay any time soon, their combs and wattles are really small compared to the one who is laying. The rooster was very happy, he was laying next to her making these cute little clucking noises the 2nd time around! He wants some babies i think.Lovely eggs! And yes, I'm totally jealous. My Biels are 31 weeks old now and still not laying, and the one that used to lay hasn't given me an egg since Sept. 29th. Did I mention that patience is not one of my virtues?![]()

I heard my lone Buff Silkie hen making a fuss one morning and saw my beloved Bosch mating with her.
They're both larger than bantam, but not quite as big as my large breeds.
