A Bird Swap Meet Every Week! For Central KY

We are trying to come in the week after Christmas. We want to visit some friends but our family would have a fit if we didn't make it for Christmas (in TX)

At some point in my life I WILL own horses. I used to go and just sit and learn. It was bad then, and I am sure with the horrible horse prices now that it is worse.

BTW, I Love the coloring of the blue wheaten Ameraucanas. Those are the bantams that I have on my list for one of the breeds I want to breed.

Do you have them all the time or are they some that you are just getting rid of?

With the hay shortage in this area, horses are selling very, very cheap. U would be surprised at what you could buy a horse for a the Stockyards in Mt. Washington..

We had the hay shortage here last year. In the past 2 years I have seen horses go from the minimum price of $200 to $10.

I have seen SEVERAL yearlings go for $10. Just SAD.

The horse market is horrible. This spring I got a 2 year old large pony, (Getting old and it's closer to the ground) for $175.00. And she is broke to death. I put a 12 year old that had never ridden on her and sent him off for a 3 hour trail ride. She's just a baby, and she baby sat him like a pro. I haven't been to the sale since hay started getting so expensive. I get too depressed.

The bantam ameraucanas are something I plan on working on. I also added white and blue a couple of weeks ago. If you want some eggs this spring, let me know. I'll send them to you, just to see how the fertility is after shipping.

Casey,
I think Oscar had to go to the hospital. They were talking about whoever does most of the work being suddenly taken ill and having to go to the hospital. I hope they're okay. Poor Matt was having to do everything.

So I guess I should wait a while before trying to contact Oscar about getting on the mailing list for Bluegrass? I have had a really tough time trying to contact anyone in that club, I met a guy named Glen from the Glascow, KY area that was a member and gave him my contact info, but I havent heard anything....My callducks would probably just get their butts kicked anyways:)

Dont dought yourself, you never know whats going to be at a show until you get there. I will call Oscar or email him, sorry I havent responded to your email yet. If you want send me your info and I can just forward it to Oscar to make sure he gets it?
