Pretty birds... :love

Poor Ethel Jr was hiding with her hound in some down trees last night during lock up and we didn't notice she was gone and something got her.... I feel terrible about this... She was such a good mom... Even though she flew into my shoulders and started attacking me... I sure will miss her...
Oh, I'm so sorry for both you and Ralphie. She was a special bird.

And, get home from church , and the baby is dead, laying in the water dish. I can't win. I'm very thankful though that I still have all the special ones.
Sorry for your loss too. I hope you won't lose any more.

so sorry for your loss... no matter how hard we try, something always goes wrong

Tell me about it, I have been really down because of the surgery and sickness. Yesterday I found I was 96 birds down in one pen by predators in last few days..I have not been able to feed them myself so I did not notice is as fast as I would have and my hired help just is in a dream world and has no idea about these things.

I really hate to hear of your losses, Ralphie. No one can take better care of our birds unless you can do it personally. I am still behind on so much from being sick in January and had to depend on family members to do a lot of my work and feeding.

Although they try hard, they just often do not understand what seems so simple to us. One grandson fed double the amount of feed in 5 days one week and then I realized I had to make a list. :he

Another gathered eggs and missed half of them because they don't understand that sometimes you have to look in weird places.

Fortunately, I have very few birds compared to you and they ARE able to count even if they have to use both fingers and toes to make sure everyone was present and accounted for. :)

Are you able to do some of your work now or are you still pretty much down for the moment? Things just won't be done quite right until you can do it yourself - even if it's being out there to physically supervise and keep check on what is going on day by day - if not minute by minute.

I do hope you improve quickly and things can be back to "Ralphi normal"! :hugs
