Lol this is my second go round 1st time was a bust two years ago, I got the eggs from a gal who had rescued 3 bbw and had them in with a standard bronze and a bourbon red, so???? A mix with one or the other I guess we will see what they turn out to be. They have already grown so much in the first week! I have them in with some chicks that hatched the same day. So far so good

chicks make good little mentors.

I think I might actually enjoy the Sunday before Thanksgiving for once...

One of the to turkeys being fed corn at HIGH rates to get fat and juicy jumped the fence again today. He cannot fly (Scissors and Flight feather accident on right wing)...

I was forced to chase him around the outside of the fence 3 times and then into the yard, had the other toms not jumped him I would still be chasing him, it is 15 degrees with a wind chill of Zero here today...NOT a day to chase a turkey...

I might even laugh when his head falls! The only sad part is I got to feel his keel when carrying him back to his prison....(Minimum Security).. It s not real big...I prefer they be over a year..BUT I eat skinny Chicken, and I can eat skinny turkey...

10 more days..but who is counting?

I had set my egg basket on the back of my 4 wheeler when I started the great Escaped Tom chase...... When I finally caught him, my hands were froze, I was in a foul mode and went into the house... Then I remembered my eggs (some 10 minutes later)...I looked out the window to see a RP hen dump them off the 4 wheeler and unto the frozen ground... RP-7 Egg- 0...

Stupid birds!!! Only 9 more months of winter to go!

Isn't that infuriating! The cat did the same to me yesterday. We keep a basket on the kitchen table that we put our eggs in. The cat decided to knock the whole thing on the floor. About 12 eggs were destroyed. I was NOT happy.
