A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Today, my two bourbon boys got into another argument. Those two just can't decide which one of them is next in line after Romeo (this debate will be permanently settled very soon). But as they were fighting, somehow, one ended up getting his mouth open wide enough to fit the other's whole face inside it! It was the craziest thing I have ever seen! And he was NOT letting go lol. They ended up breaking apart eventuality but I'm still confused as to how that one happened.

I spent about 2 hours today shoveling out the old bedding from the turkey coop. My back is now killing me lol. Usually I use shavings or wood chips but this time I used straw. Those goofy birds were afraid of the straw! I chased them in for bad and they flew up to the roosts and stared down like it was a crazy monster waiting to attack them lol

LOL that would be a sight to see.. I never have a camera when something like that happens.
and I remember when I thought snood pulling was bad.

Fun with turkeys! Great stories. My girls are almost completely recovered from their molt. and are looking beautiful....if I do say so...

They're still not comfortable with the new pup. They need councilling. And to make matters worse, I had another dog come in last night for a show this weekend. Boy are their beaks out of joint!! And the chickens don't pay a bit of attention to any of the dogs.

Ok I want to join. Lol I just hatched 2 turkeys, last Wednesday both are still alive, I take that as a win, I actually hatched 3 but one died within 24 hrs. I had laid the heating pad flat and close as I can figure the little darling just laid down and got cooked...... ugh. So I put the heating pad over the frame to make the cave and they are doing much better. No more cooked.

I heard from @JRNash a little while ago. This is what he said!

"....I'm in Demolition mode right now. I couldn't stand being away any longer so I put up a tent stuck air mattress and a.c. in it and come home!!! Nothing like CRAZY with a plan!!!! Still nothing from FEMA. Our little neck of the woods is at the bottom of the totem pole I'm thinking. Baaaa!! Who needs the feds anyway!!

There are close to 50 chickens running around. half look to be roosters! There are also about 7 Toms but only two hens made it.

Let everyone know I'm still kicking. I miss all of y'all!!"

This is the pic of the turkeys! I told him to SEND MORE PICS! i told him they appear to be in pretty good shape for what they have been through.

thank you for the update!! great to hear from him!!

Aww...love those bug eyed babies! Are these your first turkeys? What variety are they?
Lol this is my second go round 1st time was a bust two years ago, I got the eggs from a gal who had rescued 3 bbw and had them in with a standard bronze and a bourbon red, so???? A mix with one or the other I guess we will see what they turn out to be. They have already grown so much in the first week! I have them in with some chicks that hatched the same day. So far so good
