Snow fort....I feel like I'm living in one now. However, it will be above freezing & sunny today and in the upper 50's by this weekend.
I know my chickens & turkeys will be happy with that!

It got down to -6°F on Tuesday and then hit 45°F yesterday and has been in the low 40°s all night. I got an inch of snow on Monday and nothing since. After 20+" in December there has only been 1 1/2" of snow this month.

Definitely been warmer last few days. Everyone she'd their coats and is in sweaters and jackets. Downright tropical 40° with sunshine.

That sounds like a great plan! Adam was the same way, no matter what I did to deter him, he would come at me again and again. He was a fantastic Christmas turkey!

You know, none of my toms have ever shown the slightest aggression toward any person. I wonder if it is a breed characteristic. I have Royal Palms, Mottled Blacks, and used to have Midget Whites. All smaller breeds, maybe that is a factor.

Nice temps here today. 28 now. Calling for 32 later in afternoon.

Almost jacket weather compared to last week.

Was feeding birds this morning had 7 bald eagles flying around. Then a flight of 20 swans came over.
They are graceful and I like watching them but my birds are nervous as crazy.

The cold I'm assuming took out my cream legbar roo he was dead under the roost. My other legbar got predated earlier in the fall so no pure legbar babies for me this year. Unless I'm able to find a roo.

All the others are doing good and enjoying the warmer day.

A little too far for a drive to eastern PA. Have you tried asking in your state thread. A lot of CCL breeders keep a few extra roos around. Someone should be willing to part with one, if not now, at least when spring breaks.
