crack it open and look for a bullseye.. my 2nd egg was fertile, I didn't open the first one.. using it as a 'bait egg' , she was trying out different places without it.

The little chick had some food in her crop when I was going to go force feed her! Not overly full but about half, but that’s better than empty. Was busy and it had been about 5-6 hours since I had last fed her so I was worried she would be starved by then. I swear she grew a tiny bit today too... probably just the larger crop making her look larger. Fingers crossed she keeps eating on her own.

glad she is eating.. how is she today?

My 3 weeks old turkeys don't seem to like but which has me said but today when i picked them up they hissed but didn't seem scared and one even put his head under my chin and i got brave and was going to do a selfie with one and he pooped on me lol. The struggle of being a turkey mom... Lol

Last night as I was tucking in all the turkeys, the two penciled babies and the Bourbon red all BEGGED to be let out of their little seperation pen. So I let them out for a few minutes of supervised play. Oh my goodness, we're they excited! They were doing happy corps and jumping and flying around! The one penciled kept flying up on my head or on my arm just anywhere she could to be held. The bourbon was doing the same, Mar not as much. They were having a blast but the older hens still aren't ready to accept them. Eve came stomping over threatening them and Sweet Pea looked like she wanted to buy was wary of me protecting them. They were upset to go back in their pen but it was a start.

In less happy news, I found one of Pebbles babies dead on the coop floor. It must've gotten away from her exploring and the rest of the flock killed it. She still has the other one though. I think I'm going to move her, Mary and their last chick out to the rabbit hutch for a few days. They'll be crammed pretty tight in there but it not like they're sharing much space in the nest now. At least the baby will be safe. After a few days, I'll let them out and see what happens.
