Any one mind if I interrupt this lively thread to ask a chicken question?
My old RIR I'd very droopy last three days especially.

Has been down for a while. Her comb is not pretty.

Also haven't seen her eat or drink.
I picked her up to put her away and she spit up yellowish goo.
Not sure if this is old age or illness. Any ideas? I'll post on the chicken illness thread but thought I'd ask here too. Thanks!

Ralph, so sorry your PITA is your DW favorite. It was the same with me and my DH over Charlie. Now he's gone and I miss him. Charlie's gone, not my DH.

I just asked my DW if I could bring Penguin on vacation. (one way trip) The answer is not printable here. But suffice it to say it is a no. I told her he would only go as far as Memphis, it did not seem to matter.

That would be fine with me, DW still said NO.... I get the feeling she does not want to get rid of Penguin.
