It's the girls too, I watch 5 hens run to flop down right in front of my tom every day. He has a difficult time going anywhere in the mornings because they constantly block his path.

Stupid turkeys
I went out late to lock up. They had been so good about going to the coop. The jake is sleeping out and it's too dark for him to see to get down out of the spruce tree... Hopefully the owls will stay away.

6 penciled pulls and 1 semi penciled palm made their way outside today. I desperately needed to get them out. They were WAY too big for their brooder! They're currently residing with Mister in his pen. I'd prefer to wait just a little longer, till I get the main turkey coop cleaned out, before I move them over there. It's going to have to be soon though.

Reminds me of my youth. Having to fight the girls off took a lot out of me and distracted me from my studies.....

Molpet....hope your tom makes it through the night. My girls usually put themselves to bed if I'm late. If they don't make it to the coop, they end up on my backporch rail. If they ended up in a tree I'd be to freaked to sleep.

Yes he is. He got really excited at first when I put them in. He jumped down off the roof of the little coop and started strutting like crazy for them. He hasn't had a turkey companion since Tommy moved out. I think he thought I was giving him ladies though lol
