My eye is irritated and I'm worried I may have pink eye. Hopefully it's just allergies. Yesterday, I was peeing one of my ameraucana hens (she demands it every morning) and one of the penciled poults came over. When I wasn't paying attention to her, she pecked me right in the corner of the eyeball! It didn't start bugging me much until last night and is still irritated this morning. Little turd!

I am confused, how do you pee a chicken?

Outch....hope your eye is okay. I have a sort of black eye after my face plant the other day. Smushed my glasses into the corner of my eye. It's a lovely lavender color. Making me look like I have eyeshadow on one eye & not the other. Using a bit of coverup makes it look weirder. And...as I had the girls grazing yesterday some poor sap walked by with a baby in a stroller. He was visiting friends down the street. Well!!...a baby for Daisy and a stroller for Annie to inspect . They were on him like a cheap suit. As he was taking pics of the girls, he said he was so confused walking toward us because he thought they looked like turkeys but couldn't believe his eyes. He petted the girls....said he'd never touched a turkey before.

Not a golf fan. But will say the Masters down here, for me, is worth a look due to the beautiful landscape. However this year these storms are heading right for them. Oh well..

I know exactly how you feel about the eye shadow on one eye thing! I was born with a white birth Mark on my one eyelid (vitiligo). It's perfectly shaped, like eye shadow and I grew up with people asking me constantly why I wear eye shadow on just one eye. Cover up just made it look darker so for a while I wore matching eye shadow on the other eye. I hate wearing makeup though so I don't even care anymore lol. I bet you're hurts though!

I love to hear the stories when new people meet your girls. It has to be quite the Revelation for them!

We actually were able to sleep with the window open last night. It's so nice waking up to the birds chirping and roosters crowing. It's going to be a good day!

Aurora, I feel for your phones evil autocorrect. Mine gets me all the time too. I am thinking my lack of lappers failed to make the connection to petting. When I pet a chicken they protest. I have none that demand a pet..

All mine want is feed or to have me fall down in front of them so they can clean the flesh from my bones.

This crazy hen is about a year and a half old and wasn't treated special it anything at all .She just recently decided that she loves me and that I'm required to hold her, love her and pet her every time I walk in that pen. I mean seriously, I bring the food dish in and she runs to me for attention while everyone else charges the food dish! It's not like she's the bottom of the totem pole either. It's weird!
