A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I think Daisy is "tail proud ". She takes extraordinary care to maintain those feathers. She needs to pass on those values to the poults!!
Tommie has practically

NO tail feathers.

Bad birds, bad birds, whatcha gonna do when your birds go bad.....

So, I stick a folded up towel on the seat of my lapper training chair when I go out there. Forgot it this morning. Just found my two poults have pulled it off the chair and have snuggled up in it! They have it positioned perfectly to catch the fan breeze. They are LOUNGING in my towel. LOUNGING I say! Daisy is snoozing in my chair. All three look like they are relaxing after a spa treatment!

Had no phone with me....really want a pic! I was running my hound outside. He decided to tree something and was jumping 8 feet in the air ( not kidding!) screaming loudly, in 115 heat. Trying to give himself heatstroke. Spent 20 minutes playing ring-around-the tree before I could catch him! A**hole! I'm sopping wet from sweat! So gross. Off to the showers! At least the birds are enjoying themselves this afternoon!

What feed do you feed your guy to keep weight on him when he is runnin like a nut? I have a what we think is a lab/whippet mix... she is constantly runnin amok at all things movin in the woods here. She is seven and still does this. It is a task to keep weight on this girl in the spring summer and fall. :/. She eats really well but runs it all off. Wet food is not an option... gives her bad gas and not so solid poops. I do feed her eggs several times a week for extra protein.

Love that the littles are settlin in and becomin the lappers that you wanted! The stories of them are too cute! Since Sister left i miss not havin one that likes love.

I took a bunch of pictures today of the flock but I'll upload them tomorrow maybe. My computer will take too long to do it tonight. But, I will upload the sewing stuff that I promised a while ago...

different stitch patterns. Some rows, I did multiple stitch types in. I though red would stand out good on the denim. It was ok but maybe white would've been better.

The saddle stockpile, replenished. There's still a few there that need finished but I'm getting there :)

Then with my scraps from the saddles, I've been throwing together random quilt squares :)

That woobie will be beautiful when finished!

Sfgwife....if your dog doesnt have an issue, like worms, I wouldn't worry about her weight. My coonhound eats like a horse and I could still slip him under a door. I'd rather see an underweight dog vs an overweight dog! If she's truly part sight hound, then her natural body type would be on the slimmer side. As a judge, you should be able to see a sight hounds ribs and backbone. Not only is that normal, its preferred for that type of dog. She sounds pretty healthy or she wouldn't be as active! My hound is a picky eater. Doesn't always eat as much as I'd like. I think its heat related. He can really drop weight if we are hunting him. He can look like a black snake after running on a hunt for a few hours! I quit worrying about his weight and self feed him. He eats what/when he wants. I've yet to see a dog starve themselves!
Keep in mind hound and working bred dogs are supposed to have slim body types. Ever see a fat greyhound? The only hounds that tend to get fat are dachshunds and bassets. And that's their owners fault!

Have one of my co-owned Aussies here for the weekend. They are getting ready to go show him and I'm spending the weekend grooming him. Yes...its a two day project! So Daisy has her snood in a twist over the strange dog running around! Due to the heat, I just ran them all outside to exercise. Peeked in the turkey pen....sure enough....those two poults are snuggled up in that towel sound asleep. Was planning to remove the towel, but maybe I just give them a few pillows. Instead of two lappers in training, I think I have two divas in training!

I have never thought of it this way! Nope Athena doesn’t have a wormy issue just like you said. Sleek and active. I just do not like seein her ribs..... she never gets fat even in winter but her ribs are covered if that makes sense. In summer i can just see her ribs easily. We free feed here too and she eats how she wants.... nibbler that she is lol. My irish wolfhound will run with her some just not all the time like she does... he is sleek just cannot see his ribs. This makes me feel netter thank you! Now i won’t fret so over her ribby self lol.
