A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

The poults stood at the gate & watched Daisy & I head off for our evening stroll. They haven't followed us yet. Daisy drops them like hot potatoes when it's time for her walk. Kids are all back in school so they aren't out free ranging. But the grazing is good so she's not minding much! The poults get all excited when we reappear in the backyard. They just haven't worked up the courage to follow us yet. And that's ok....I have visions of Iris flying back to Arkansas when the first car drives by! She's quite dramatic at times!!

Lol! I can imagine your first walk with the poults will be stressful for all but I'm sure they'll get in to the same comfortable routine as Miss Daisy. Though, being a palm, Iris will probably always be a bit flighty.

Ever told me this morning that she wanted to free range today. She doesn't do that often but since it's going to be a nice day, I let her out. As soon as she headed for the door, Pebbles, Sweet Pea, Baby, and Cynthia all marched in a line right behind her lol. I haven't looked yet but I'm sure most of the regular escapees are probably out by now too. There's going to be very few actually IN the pen today! They better all stay in the yard!

Aww....love how you understand what your turkeys are saying! I'm sure the ladies are having a wonderful time roaming around! I've been working in the yard. The poults are suspicious of my tools. But since Daisy is closely supervising, they are sticking tight. I'll turn them into gardeners yet!!

found a little silver one in the bator this morning.... just checked and the second turkey egg is hatching , looks black but it's still very wet so we will see. Oh and 2 chicks have hatched... when I looked last night 3 maybe 4 of the chicken eggs looked like late quitters? Oh well still have 3 more weekends worth of hatches so I won't get to excited either way .... yet

Anyone want some entertainment? The kids' first football game of the season was yesterday and I recorded our band's halftime show. Brendon said that they messed up the beginning but they were rushed and nervous/excited lol

and the turkeys are just fine this morning lol
