So update on snake(the mean broody turkey)
Went out last night DD thought she heard babies but didnt want to lose a hand so she conned mom into checking, well 2 dead babies in squished shells... grrr, we decided that maybe it was a fluke so gave her till this morning. Nope 2 more dead ones so we took away the remaining eggs, one was an externally piped the other 2 were duds. Put the one that looked good in the incubator and it hatched! Cute little black baby! We are going to call it Nemo, cuz all its siblings got eaten by the barracuda. No pics yet but it's a soccer pro!

Nemo....cute name. Sorry about the others.

Yeah....lilacs! Just love the smell! We can't grow them here. But at my house in Missouri, that was one of the first things I planted. Had to look some for an old variety. Most of the newer hybrids don't have that great smell.

I agree. I bought my mom a lilac bush years ago and didn't realize that there were new varieties. She loves it but it just doesn't have that irresistible scent. I was so thrilled when we moved to our house to find out that the small bush in the front yard is a lift purple lilac... My favorite! I don't know if anyone else has noticed but the white, light purple and dark purple smell slightly different

Yep different colors and types smell different. Mom planted old fashion and Persian purple ones. Slightly different colors and sents. Between me and the neighbor, on the old fence line, is a very small and old white one. Small because it's next to a black walnut.... neighbor wants to cut it out. I said no, my great Uncle planted it... Neighbors house was built by my great Uncle
