yes people have little sense, waste not want not... I also keep close to a month of stuff on hand.. used to be it was a jaunt to get to the big stores through Joliet to the other side... nowadays the food stores are 3 miles away, but I still stock up on sales. I have plenty of tp, bleach, soap, paper towels, beans, rice from sales...canned tomatoes, onions, garlic, potatoes from the garden.. although the potatoes are starting to sprout. What is even more crazy about this panic buying is a LOT of the stuff they're buying will end up in the trash, unused because they don't want to store it once the threat is gone. Those of us who live in the country, generally have a decent stock of what we need for sudden storms because we simply can't get out after one hits. I've been seriously thinking about picking up another pack of TP this weekend, if one's available, not because I need it, but because if this trend continues next month when I do, it might not be there.
Wednesday I picked up my usual month of feed 35 min away, and as usual stopped at a couple of grocery stores. Still was tp and sanitizer but not much, I didn't need any anyway. I got my usual 8 large goat yogurt, fresh and frozen veggies and fruits. Yesterday I went to the closest store for a different kind of frozen veggies and almond butter. NO TP or sanitizers.
oh they will get more in next week or the week after... eventually people will have all they want, just hopefully before the supply chain breaks down
