From a batch of 5, 4 turned out to be toms and only one hen.

The Recessive Slates turned out to be 7 toms and one hen.

Boy the luck of the draw sure wasn't on your side for hens this time. At least you still got 1 of each.

Hope this isn’t unwelcome, but I thought i’d share. Got some photos of my rusty black jake “Spaghetti” next to a barred black cull jake. Forgive the trash, having a situation regarding emus and slaughtering.

I adore the color difference between these two though, my rusty black looks much different from barred or full black turkeys. He’s got much more iridescence going on, and has some pretty distinct barring in comparison to the barred black and black turkeys i’ve had and have now.

Uh.. wouldn't know. That sentence was meant in regards to two different circumstances:
A: Emus tried to kill the turkeys.
B: It's close to slaughtering time for the Broad breasted bronzes so they need to fatten up any more they can.

I imagine it's a lot though, they are incredibly large birds. The ones I have especially so. I apologize for the confusing statement.

The first turkey eggs of the season are in the incubator! There were 11 in the first group. Hopefully they're fertilized and hatch good

Just took a few picks of the wild turkey hen and her 3 poults from this spring 1 jake 2 jennies that she has raised on the property. First 2 pics of them raiding the duck feeder other 2 raiding the bird feeders right out my back picture window.

Have had the pleasure of watching them all summer and this is their eve ritual before going up to roost in a large tree overlooking the pond.

Was just out putting ducks in their enclosure and took pics of the wild turkeys on the roost over the pond. Hard to see without zooming/double clicking on photo but they are there.

Turkeys from the Florida Sunshine Classic… Most were super pretty, but only bronzes and royal palms were there. 2/4 of the males looked very immature and ugly, so I skipped getting photos of them.
