A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

I sure hate to hear that Feedman...darn.

Holm, really...apparently Chubby wasn't ready to get out of bed.....

I have learned to lift a turkey you really need to be above it. So lifting off a roost is hard to do. Unless it is JJ or Ethel that like to be held and do not fight it. I try lifting the boys off the fence rail when they roost there and end up dropping them every time because they fight me.

I have to get my new boy Coconut off the fence rail every night because that's where he decided he wanted to go every evening at dusk. The first few nights I tried to get my arm over his back to "lift" him as I would if he were on the ground. It worked a couple times when I was able to pin his wings down to his sides, and use my other hand to support his breast and feet. But usually I wasn't that neat about it, so I got wing flapped in the face. He and I both figured out we didn't like that routine, so then one night he jumped off the rail to get away from me. Now I always just push up on his legs to make him stand, and then bug him until he's had enough and jumps off by himself. Then I herd him into the pen. Getting flapped in the face by turkey wings does hurt more than chicken wings! ;)

When you become a turkey whisperer you will just be able to tell them to go to bed, and they will go right in the pen you want them in.

Why did you pick her up?

Haven't you heard the saying "Leave sleeping Dogs and Turkeys lie"?

Because I was cleaning the coop. She hasnt even started laying! But my sister saud when I was gone her and Mr. T were breeding for about five minutes.

I have Mr T's Bordello done and it is stocked with 4 virgins for him!

Right now I have them all running together, Once Mr T leaves I can lock each one into its own apartment. Not lots of room but enough for a month or two. I plan to add more space to each cage, but for right now I just needed it done so I could get the other turkeys mating.

JJ and Ethel are together, with 2 self blues.

I have a Slate Blue in with 4 Self blues...
