I've given up on Pebbles and am now trying to break her which she is not cooperating. You ask know, her first poults that I gave her didn't work out because she wasn't sitting long enough. Understandable. Do I have her 6 chicken eggs which slowly were broken and eaten by her or others, I'm not sure. So I waited a few weeks and then gave her a 3 week old poult. She did great with her for about 24 hours and then, the poult was gone. Just disappeared with no sign of her whatsoever and Pebbles is still sitting. So I'm trying to break her

Couldn't stockpile eggs for a week. My hatching addiction took over. I set 8 turkey eggs outta my flock. Test run see if the boys have been doing their job.

I'm glad winters about over. Starting to get grass greening up. Downside means I'll have to get a mower started before long.

I wish that drake would have! He is being the biggest pain and I am sick of him! I see why the drake beat him up today to! He kept pecking my CX hen and tge drake ran over and beat the heck out of Mr. T again! I am happy that drake sticks up for her! And when the turkey hen pecked the Muscovy hen the drake gave her a run for her money till Mr. T and the turkey hen were attacking him then he ran to water.


We r still working things out. I had a little issue come up here....

I set 23 eggs in the incubator today. I squeezed in one extra-the little egg. I shouldn't, but I wanted to see what I'd get. Mini Bourbon Reds, anyone?

You might need to set up your own little Gitmo. I took my hen out of gitmo and she has shown no desire to sit on eggs.



I have Tom going nuts. JJ is so happy being with the hens all he is doing is strutting, I do not see him mounting any girls.

Mr T's girls are in the Bordello getting courtesan training. There is one Tom that has spent the whole day outside their cage strutting. The Guinea Gulag has the Blue in it with 4 self blues. He spent all day strutting along the fence and fighting the Tom on the outside. 4 Toms were outside strutting and fighting so no breeding got done in there. I may have to build a Tom Prison. I need a couple more covered runs, but I was hoping to wait a few months to build them. I am also thinking I might just send a couple Toms to freezer camp. Porter is leaving next week, If I sent 2 to camp I would only have Side kick left outside. Incase Mr T or the blue end up sterile I could use Sidekick, even though I do not really need more self blues.

Gevshiba 23 eggs what is wrong with you? I am setting 125-130 tonight get with it!

I get it about the mower. We were out there earlier messing with the tractor trying to get it up to par. Turns out we need a new ignition switch to get it going again. Since it's a '78 gravely, the party is tough to find...and about $60 :/

I may have to. I was contemplating putting hooks on the ceiling in their coop so I can hang a dog crate to put her in till she stops sitting. Sarah seems to have given up since I kept kicking her out of the box while I was trying to let Pebbles work. We'll see if she's just taking a break or what.
