A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Our big lady Mabel is very lonely. We're looking for another turkey hen to keep company with her if any of you know of a spare hen in western WA. Our housing is now secure.

Yep I think Ralphie spoiled my Porter,,, Porter has me making him breakfast now, I've been a little worried he hasn't eaten much BUT I guess I just wasn't feeding him correctly, Ralphie should have told me Porter likes biscuits and sausage gravy, hash browns, eggs with a side of bacon.. Lol.. Boy Judy sure must be in the kitchen allot.. :) . I had friends over helping me unpack the storage pod so I made them all breakfast and had bunch left over so I took some to Porter and he ate some right away and almost purred like a kitten, yep he will love me soon enough.. BTW everyone LOVED the turkey eggs. That was the 1st time any of us has had them.. Yummy.. Thank You Ralphie they were a big hit..

Today is day 28 for my turkey eggs with no sign of hatching yet. I know that about half of them are duds from looking at them with a light but I have hope for the other half. Hopefully when I get home from work in the morning I'll see a pip in the egg or even a poult.

I'm also in western WA, and I did see an ad on Craigslist a couple of days ago that someone was getting out of turkeys and had 5 hens. I don't know if that might be an option? It was too far away from me (I'm also looking for hens) but you might be closer.... Mabel needs a buddy :)

So did the new 1202 pan out for you ralphie?

The majority of my girls are starting to lay which is good.

But my Bourbon haven't laid an egg yet.

Dressed up like col. Sanders and threatened my chicken hens with (hot wings, pot pie, original and extra crispy). I'm getting over a dozen a day. Started laying day after.

Tried it with my Bourbon reds they looked at me like Kentucky fried turkey wasn't right.

Maybe they will lay some day.

Jaded....any thing hatch yet??
Aurora...congrats on the mottled! Can't wait to see pics!
Ralph...did you get the other incubator?
Feedman....I'm up in Ste. Genevieve FREEZING! My Bourbon is laying her tail feathers off.

Spending Easter with the family. Miss my girls.

I can't wait to get pictures for you guys though it's hard with the Easter weekend. Pretty much all family stuff going on so it probably won't be til Sunday. So far, quite a few mottled blacks/silver dapple have hatched (I haven't counted but something like 7 so far). At least I think the more silvery ones are silver dapple. We'll have to wait and see how they feather out. My husband is absolutely thrilled though. One is a royal palm. He wants to name him King Henry or Queen Elizabeth lol. I think he's starting to get into this thing with me a little bit. He's really liking the Polish chicks I'm raising out and we were looking at Porters together last night at all the different breeds :)

Nope, no poults yet.

Not even a pip. Maybe I'll wake up to a few.
