Thanks everyone for the congrats on the new babies.

One more batch next week then done.

Was gonna keep them and see how they feather out. But decided to keep a couple of them and the rest are going to a ssmall animal swap/sale on the 11th.

So gonna have them 9 more days. But they are easy to get attached to.

So far all are doing well and have not lost or had to cull any.

These last 2 hatches have been so much better than hatches earlier in the year.

I am getting a few broad breasted next week. Looking forward to that and then another 15 next month from Porters.

Ethel is back for good!

She brought me 5 babies. I went looking for her nest to see how many eggs she had etc, but no luck finding them. I did find the other hen on her nest, She gave me the stink eye when we found her. I have no desire to mess with her after the look I got.


Ethel was so happy to show me her babies, until I picked her up caught her babies and moved her to a secure covered run. She has a lot of variation in her chicks. Which just make me wonder even more what JJ and ethel are for sure.






The following really shows the difference in the poults. I have another penguin, and one that looks like a Keet. but way too large to be one.





I will get more pictures soon, but right now Ethel does not want me around.

Congratulations on Ethels return. Glad she brought you 5 babies. I'm sure s few treats later all will be forgiven for the safety of enclosed pen for her.
